Audrey Button......aged 12.

Elsie Button......aged 35.......died the same day at the New General Hospital.

Gillian Patricia Button......aged 22months.

James William Button......aged 39.

Kenneth Ingham Button......aged 15.

Annie Jackson......aged 45............died on May 7th as a result of injuries received.

Ella Jackson.....aged 21.

The Jackson's were mother and daughter and lived in No:31 Amberley Street.

It is likely that these fatalities occurred in a shared shelter (a common feature).

Records show that all four utility services (water, sewers, electricity and gas) were damaged in Amberley Street.
Information recently received indicates that the Button family died from gas poisoning.





The Button family are buried in a single plot in York Cemetery.



Annie Jackson is buried in her own plot as she died at a later date to her daughter.





Ella Jackson is buried in a double plot with four other air raid victims in the York Cemetery.
