Target Decoys in WW2

In WW2, both sides expended considerable effort in attempting to lure bombers away from their intended targets.

The UK decoy stategy was multifaceted, protecting airfields, urban/industrial areas and creating dummy factory sites. 

The book "Fields of Deception" (Colin Dobinson, published by English Heritage) is particularily detailed in describing the UK's policy/techniques.

What is less well known, is how, under the direction of the Luftwaffe, Germany utilized similar techniques with frequently spectacular success.

This website is intended to briefly explain the techniques employed in the UK and to collate the limited information of how the German decoy system was organised and give examples of their use.
