The crew of Halifax DK260 (434 Sqn)

This Halifax took off from Tholthorpe at 2117hrs. An attack by a Me110 resulted in the night fighter being shot down. Almost immediately afterwards there was a second attack by a night fighter which killed and wounded several crew members. The aircraft was on fire when the order to bail out was given and three members of the crew managed to parachute to safety. The Halifax crashed in the general vicinity of Wolgast.
