Yorkshire's East Coast

'0' Meridian

This could be a tricky location to reach, as access to the beach was through a holiday park.

The extensive Sand Le Mere park had access barriers which were raised during our visit.

The fishing lake in the SE corner is the point to aim for. There is plenty of parking space at the end of the lake closest to the sea.

Even this well managed holiday park cannot hold back the sea.

You walk along the beach and eventually reach the Meridian........there are no markers, you need to use the GPS on your mobile phone.

Where the sea has taken a large chunk out of the (now closed) road, it shows that you are close to the Meridian.....see the title image.

Unfortunately, the track approaching the Meridian from Waxholme is marked private.
