The Nuremberg Rallies

Propaganda Postcards

There were literally thousands of different postcards on sale during the rallies. They were sent all over Germany by participants keen to show that they were attending the rallies.

Taking your own camera into events was actively discouraged and, if caught, you were likely to have your camera confiscated.

Only official photographs, showing the rallies in the best light, were to be made available.

There are several excellent websites that display many different examples but, for the most comprehensive selection, look at German Postal History.

Click the image above to load this excellent website (opens in a new window at the year 1936).

The site can be a little difficult to navigate but you can find a selection of postcards, not only from the Nazi period but from 1872 to 1945.
