Dorothy Thompson was a Private (No: W/35582) in the Auxiliary Territorial Service.

She was being billeted in 21, Nunthorpe Grove when bombs struck the area.

After the raid, Dorothy was unaccounted for and it was only on May 7th that a large water filled bomb crater was finally drained.
Sadly, at the bottom of the crater, buried in the mud, was the body of 24 year old Dorothy Thompson.

She is buried in the Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate.
