Lancasters PB300 & PB354

Both of these Lancasters were from 49Sqn.

In November of 2014, the 70th anniversary, a church service was held in Gravenhorst to remember those who were killed on the ground and the aircrew of the two Lancasters.

The event was attended by members of those affected, both German and English.
 

One candle for each death.



The graves of seven victims all from the same family.



There was a ceremony by the memorial next to the canal. This area was completely obliterated.



The visitors were shown the crash site of the two Lancasters.
